stadhuisThe town hall.

The town hall cellars or so called " raadskelders " are beneath the beautiful town hall of Leuven. These cellars are original from the 13th and 14th century. In 1970 a complete restoration has been done. The cellars have their own entrance at the left side of the town hall.

Today the association of age sets (Verbond der Jaartallen) have their meetings in these cellars. Here you also will find a museum where all photo's, flags, objects ... ect of the age sets are stored and shown to the public and many tourists. Monthly on a Saturday, these cellars are open to the public and the entrance is free.

Beneath you will find some photo's showing the condition before and after the restoration. Click to enlarge.
